Neat ("Neat," "we," "us," or "our") is a whiskey discovery app that helps you find whiskeys that match your palate through a personalized flavor profile quiz and matching engine. Neat is intended exclusively for users who are 21 years of age or older. By creating an account or using Neat, you confirm that you meet this requirement. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 21. If we become aware that a user is under 21, we will promptly delete their account and all associated data.
Neat is not directed at children. In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13 under any circumstances.

Neat's current recommendation engine operates entirely within our own systems and does not send your data to any AI service. If we introduce AI-powered features in the future — such as a conversational Flavor Profile powered by Anthropic's Claude API — we will update this policy to disclose that feature specifically, and we will notify you before it becomes active. In such a case, your inputs may be processed by Anthropic in accordance with their privacy policy.
Your data is stored on Supabase servers in the United States. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data is removed from our active systems immediately. Residual data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days, after which it is permanently purged.
Deleting your account: You can request account deletion by contacting us at samuel.frederick.johnson@gmail.com. An in-app account deletion option is coming in a future update and will be available before or at the time of App Store launch.

Neat is operated from the United States. If you are accessing the app from outside the United States, please be aware that your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Your continued use of Neat after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
